California Microwave, Inc., is a
leading U.S. supplier of satellite earth station and microwave radio infrastructure
products, and chief executive officer for Adaptive Broadband Ltd., a subsidiary of
California Microwave. Dr. Scharre has over 15 years of management experience in the
telecommunications and aerospace industries, with responsibilities for R&D, product
development, manufacturing, operations, marketing, sales, and finance. His areas of
technical expertise include satellite and wireless communications, application software
development, network management and data security.
Scharre joined California Microwave
from ComStream Inc., where he was vice president and chief technical officer. Prior to
joining ComStream, Scharre spent three years as vice president and general manager at Ilex
Systems, a satellite communications equipment supplier. From 1988 to 1993, he served as
Manager, Advanced Programs and subsequently as Director, Communication Systems at Loral
Western Development Labs. He led and managed the development of digital satellite
communication systems.
In 1985, he founded Theta
Corporation to develop application software for satellite monitor and control, satellite
earth station design and computer simulation, and served as president and chief executive
officer for three years. He previously held managerial positions at Space Applications
Corporation. From 1977 to 1982, Scharre was assistant professor of high energy particle
physics at Stanford University. Scharre holds a BS in physics from California Institute of
Technology, a Ph.D. in physics from University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from
Santa Clara University. |
