Mr. Miller has been in the data communications
industry since 1972. He founded Concord Data Systems in late 1980 and served as its
President and CEO until 1986. Concord Data Systems was a pioneer in high speed dial modems
and was the author of the IEEE 802.4 LAN standard, which became the lower layer for the
MAP factory LAN standard.
Mr. Miller was a regular columnist in Data
Communications Magazine from 1992 to 1994. He has also published numerous articles and
participated in many panels at trade shows and other industry events. He has written a
book entitled "Multicast Networking and Applications" published in October, 1998
by Addison-Wesley.
Mr. Miller received the BEE degree from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute and the MSEE degree from the University of Pennsylvania specializing
in communications.
