Pros & Cons of Being a Wireless ISP

Brian Nerney
President & CEO
Clearwire Technologies, Inc.

Description:
High bandwidth, reliable and quickly-provisioned wireless IP connectivity represents a compelling alternative to wired technologies. There are a wide variety of unlicensed and licensed broadband MMDS, LMDS and other wireless local access technologies, available today and on the horizon and evaluating these can be very confusing. Using real world examples, this session examines an ISP’s wireless options, the “equipment buy vs. service buy” debate, and how wireless access fits with the business requirements of the ISP’s customer base. It will evaluate the performance, cost and revenue opportunities wireless represents, measured against the quality and performance standards required of local access technology by both business and consumer customers.
