Fred Wachter

Director, Business Development

US Monolithics

Fred Wachter has a total of 19 years experience in Satellite Communications and fixed wireless systems and ground terminal design. Fred spent 12 years at Telesat, holding various positions in the Ground Systems Engineering and Satellite Control Systems Divisions. As Director of Broadcast and Data Services Fred was responsible for business development, marketing as well as design and deployment of the video broadcast and commercial data networks operated by Telesat across Canada.

In 1994, Fred joined Motorola on the Iridium program as Product Manager for the Ka-Band Satellite Control and Gateway Feeder-link tracking terminals. After the Iridium adventure Fred spent several years as Product Manager for the Fixed Wireless Group where his primary responsibility was the development for various transceivers and outdoor units aimed at the domestic 2.5 GHz and international 3.5 GHz MMDS markets. Presently Fred is Director of Business Development at US Monolithics.

Fred received his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, in Ontario, Canada.
