Frank Kelly is currently a Senior Director in the DIRECWAY software development organization at Hughes Network Systems. A 20 year veteran of Hughes Network Systems (formerly known as M/A-Com Telecommunications and Digital Communications Corporation), he has been involved with developing many satellite access terminals and networks, including several Inmarsat Standard A Earth Stations.

He participated in the initial and continuing product development of the Integrated Satellite Business Network ™ (ISBN™) (also known as Personal Earth Station), which included development of both network management and protocol processing software, prior to assuming a system architectural role.

His recent experience was leading the development and deployment of the first DVB-compliant DirecPC product for the European market; and as system architect responsible for software development of the DIRECWAY terminal product family, which provides 2-way, broadband internet access for both consumer and business markets. He currently leads an engineering group that develops the software and integrates the systems used for the DIRECWAY network infrastructure. He also remains actively involved in system-level architectural design for new DIRECWAY service capabilities.
