André Jacobs is the
Technical Project Manager for Irdeto Access and is responsible for the development of
CypherCast, an Internet content security system. Irdeto Access is recognized as one of the
world's leading providers of security product for broadcasting applications.
He has been extensively involved in the development of security
products for delivery and distribution of media over satellite. He was a key part of the
team that produced the world's first MPEG-2 / DVB compliant digital conditional access
system. He was the architect/designer of CypherCast, one of the world's first smart card
based Internet protocol security systems, to be used for data broadcasting and streaming
media applications.
Prior to his involvement in broadcast security systems, he was
involved in the design of aircraft autopilots and aircraft simulators. He holds an honors
degree in engineering and is registered as a professional engineer.
