Simon
Cavenett is Vice President of Engineering and is responsible for all aspects of
engineering and technologies. He has over thirteen years of broad experience across the
Telecommunications Industry with expertise in RF engineering, data and transmission
engineering, wireless, ISP, and data systems planning, project management, design,
deployment, optimization, and operation.
Mr. Cavenett has an extensive background in
engineering, planning, and managing communications systems and networks including AMPS,
GSM, CDMA, PCS, fixed link microwave, high speed data, optical fiber technologies, and ISP
networks. Mr. Cavenett has a long and proven track record for engineering and managing
first to market implementations and key projects, including the first major digital fixed
wireless system in Australia (Telstra) and one of the first commercial CDMA systems in
China (Nortel). Prior to joining TWS, Mr. Cavenett was Manager of CDMA Systems with Nortel
Networks.
During his 8 year career at Telstra, the leading
telecommunications provider in Australia, Mr. Cavenett was Principal Engineer of Mobile
Networks for the Victoria and Tasmania Region.
As CTO of Blue Sky Communications, Mr. Cavenett is a
member of the CTO Advisory Committee for the GSM Association North America (GSMNA) and of
the Executive Advisory Committee of the IEC.
