John Stevenson has worked in the development of satellite-based Internet services since 1994. He has held senior positions during the recent past at Intelsat, at Orblynx, Inc. and at Astrolink International, all with responsibility for advanced system and service concepts. These experiences have covered one-way/multicast and two-way/interactive satellite transmission schemes, in all frequency bands, using both proprietary and standards-based technology, for public and private network use (and have even involved the now infamous “applications we haven’t thought of yet”). He founded the Leapfrog Telecommunications Consultancy in early 2002. The consultancy is being positioned as a source of expert recommendations, business plan development and implementation/project management for data services to enterprise clients. Primary new product and service development initiatives include teleScope™ - an integrated IP-based videoconferencing platform for workgroups in small-to-medium enterprises. Dr. Stevenson holds advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London.
