Micki Segal is
manager of the Marketing group for content delivery and security at NDS Technologies. This
includes NDS MediaStorm™ and Open VideoGuard™. NDS MediaStorm is the
comprehensive broadband delivery system which enables datacasters to deliver a wide range
of applications and services, including high-speed Internet over satellite, cable,
terrestrial, ADSL, wireless, and IP networks. Open VideoGuard is the conditional access
software that is used by more than 20 million pay TV subscribers worldwide. It enables
services including video-on-demand, interactivity, secure t-commerce, Internet access, and
on-time program guides.
Segal’s experience with software
security goes back to the early 1990s when software was still heavily pirated. She has her
Bachelor of Commerce degree in marketing and information systems from University of
Witwatersrand, South Africa, and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University
of South Africa.
