Chris Schram is Vice
President, Satellite Plans & Procurement for New Skies Satellites, headquartered in
The Hague. New Skies (NYSE: NSK) owns and operates 5 in-orbit satellites and associated
field offices and teleport facilities. Chris has been in the satellite industry since
joining Hughes Aircraft in 1981.
Since joining NSS shortly after its
inception, Chris group has been responsible for the design and procurement of the
NSS-6, NSS-7, and planned NSS-8 satellites. Chris also managed initial development of
NSS DVB/IP platform-based services, now offered under the Ipsys brand
name.
Prior to NSS, Chris was Senior Director,
Product Development with PanAmSat. During his 6 years at PanAmSat he assisted in the fleet
growth from the single PAS-1 satellite through the launch of PAS-8 and merger with
Hughes/Galaxy
