David Bukovinsky joined
WildBlue Communications [formerly known as iSky, Inc.] in May, 2000 as the Vice President
of Program Management. In this role he is responsible for the development, procurement,
and deployment of the ground network components for the WildBlue service, including the
satellite modems, modem termination systems, backbone network, network operations center,
and ISP services.
During the two years prior to joining
WildBlue Communications Bukovinsky was Vice President of Broadband Services at CableLabs,
as well as serving as an officer of the company. In this role he was responsible for
defining and implementing the highly successful and widely adopted PacketCable [IP
telephony/multimedia technologies] program. During this time period he also assumed
responsibility for the very successful DOCSIS [cable modem] program, helping to plan the
next evolution of cable modem technology.
Previously, David was with Americast where he
was responsible for analyzing competitive market trends, emerging technologies, and
internal company objectives to develop strategic product evolution plans for their digital
cable television services and set top box technologies.
Prior to his entrance into the cable and
broadband industry, he was responsible for development and delivery of cellular network
products in Motorolas cellular network division over a 7 year period.
Bukovinsky holds a Master of Science degree
in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in
Computer and Information Science from the Ohio State University, College of Engineering.
He also sits on the technical advisory board for Cadant, Inc. - a next generation CMTS
manufacturer.
