(PRWEB) February 01, 2012

The IRHN is a not-for profit corporation of health care providers who have come together to deploy and maintain a high-speed network to connect rural hospitals and health care clinics in Illinois.

More than 80 rural health care entities are being linked to each other and to urban medical centers, allowing the transmission of electro-cardiograms, CT scanner files, digital mammography files, and other diagnostic information that will facilitate consultation with specialists, faster medical treatment, and a reduced need to transport elderly citizens to distant hospitals.

Most of the hospitals currently working with the IRHN utilize T-1 circuits for data connectivity. T-1 circuits allow for 1.5 Mbps. The IRHN will provide a minimum of 100 Mbps upstream and downstream, and can provide 1 Gigabit/second.

The G4S Technology contract will provide construction services to connect hospitals and clinics to existing backbone fiber routes. These lateral construction builds are being deployed across the state of Illinois to provide the last mile connection. Bob Sommerfeld, President of G4S Technology LLC, said: G4S Technology is thrilled to be able to work with the IRHN and to be a part of constructing this network that will provide Illinois healthcare facilities the ability to access advanced medical care.

The NIU Broadband Development Group, a university unit that specializes in planning, implementing and optimizing broadband connectivity projects for municipalities and other large organizations, first conceived the state-wide network idea.

The IRHN network will speed the deployment of advanced medical technologies and vastly improve patient care and physician communication, said Alan Kraus, Director of the NIU Broadband Development Group.

Almost three years in the planning, the IRHN has utilized the Broadband Development Group to handle the functions necessary to make the project a reality.

Between a Hollywood superstar and a voice actor, the latter realistically works harder. It is quite difficult for a voice actor to put feelings and emotions to what he is reading, all the while knowing that he’s not seen on screen. The voice actor must be able to empathize with the persona that he portrays and make sure that he breathes life into the script. It is in this realm where voice over training is essential.

Voice over artists are able to learn the craft of voice acting and find good employment in this field by going through voice over training. There are 1000s of cartoon and animated TV shows, web shows, TV/radio advertisements, web videos, and movies being made regularly. Moreover, each movie/TV show has a cast of more than 20-30 characters. There are global opportunities galore for a voice actor.

Basic skills needed to join a voice over training course

Diction is one of the most vital tools of the trade. Perfect enunciation is required from the student, hence, it is necessary for him to go to speech classes to master his diction. A voice talent would always have two roles to perform – the “acting,” and the “lending voice.” So, fantastic diction is not enough to start voice over training – the student must also enroll in an acting course prior to joining the voice over course.

What does a voiceover training course teach?

The student learns how to evaluate and interpret commercial copy for announcer and real-person roles. He also comes to understand how to interpret narrative copy and gets the hang of technical copy as well. Students learn to coordinate the mind, mouth and voice efficiently, so that they may be able to sound really true to the personality they are playing. The student also learns how to take direction.

A great voice actor training course makes students read, record, play back, listen, and then do it repeatedly until they get it right. Students learn tactics such as inflection, timing and articulation. They perform warm-ups and vocal exercises as well. They understand how to maintain their vocal fitness. When students are already half-way into the voice over training program, they become competent at using and adjusting pitch, tone, volume and delivery speed to cater to numerous types of jobs.

After the main training is over, students learn how to promote their skills, tap the right contacts, and get voice over work. Instructors of the voice over course also assist them in creating a voice over demo, which would become part of their portfolio. An opportunity to experience working in a real studio is offered in a solid voice over training course for students. They also learn what the do’s and don’ts are whenever they are behind the microphone or in a sound booth.

Selecting a voice over training program

There are two facets to voice training. A commercial voice over course must be chosen by students who are interested in selling. Commercial voice talents are used for selling. TV advertisements, radio ads, phone and other media feature these voice overs. Selling skills are also covered by a voice over course considering that all commercial voice overs sell a service or a product. This course does not cover acting skills. If a student is interested in showbiz, then he should opt for dubbing and a movie or TV voice over course. Such courses require lip-synching, and so the voice over actor has to learn acting skillsets too.

To conclude, all the world’s a stage and we must play a part. So if you would like to be a voice actor, and you want to learn how to improve your voice, better enroll in a reputed voice actor training program.

Different types of fibre optic cable armoring.

As a leading international marine engineering business, Global Marine works for every major telco in the world.

We offer expert project management and our operations teams have unrivalled experience in the installation of subsea fibre optic cables. In addition, we have alliances and joint ventures with some of the largest cable and optical network manufacturers worldwide that further give us the ability to deliver fully installed submarine cable systems in any ocean, anywhere in the world.

Shot of the ONT before any of the wire connections were done.

The ONT (Optical Network Terminal) is basically the heart of fiber optic broadband. It provides connection for the fiber optic line, your existing household phone system, and an Ethernet jack for internet access.

The ONT is mounted on the exterior of your house, near your existing telephone network interface. Behind the actual ONT you see here is a cable housing, where excess fiber optic line is coiled and stored. Since fiber optic line can’t be bent beyond a certain angle without breaking, and because it’s not easy to install a connector on the end, I guess Verizon just provides lots of extra line, and a big enough box to coil it in without bending it too far.

Mumbai, Maharastra (PRWEB) February 06, 2012

Click Asia Summit 2012 turned the usual conference format on its head by dedicating the first evening entirely to networking. This networking gala was hosted at Mumbai’s The Comedy Store, where delegates mingled over delicious food, drinks and a healthy dose of rib-tickling stand-up comedy by hilarious national and international performers.

On Day 2, learning began in earnest. The keynote address was delivered by Former United Nations Under-Secretary General and sitting MP Dr. Shashi Tharoor. Dr.Tharoor is widely known for his prominent social media savvy and at Click Asia Summit 2012, he tackled the burning question of social media censorship head-on, making it clear that while freedom of speech does not give the right to spread hatred and panic, he was no fan of censorship and was willing to err on the side of generosity when it came to free speech.

It was great to see such a wide range of participants. The energy and enthusiasm the delegates brought to the conference reflects the opportunities for digital media in India. – Lucy McCabe

The other keynote speakers were Cyriel Kortleven from new shoes today and Lucy McCabe, from OgilvyOne. While Cyriel’s session was all about tapping the creative potential of the human mind and breaking fixed thinking patters, punctuated by heavy audience interaction and humor, Lucy concentrated on the present and future of digital marketing in India and Asia, stating that for the next generation, digital was the same as normal.

The digital is normal mantra would come up over and over again during the conference, as speakers from companies like Google, Star TV, Turner Broadcasting, Adobe, Saatchi and Saatchi, Taj Hotels and TripAdvisor reiterated similar sentiments. Post-lunch, the conference ran on three parallel tracks, focusing on Technology, Social Media and Search respectively, with delegates free to swap between sessions.

…the response was amazing , I guess the number of attendees were far more than what I had anticipated… – Mahesh Murthy

The overall positive buzz around the event naturally spilled over to the social web, where the official hashtag of the event, #CAS12, was soon trending throughout the country on Twitter. Delegates took to the microblogging site to congratulate speakers for powerful, engaging sessions and to tell the world about how much fun they were having even while they were learning.

Here are some of the things delegates had to say about the event on the social web:

Question by Andrew A: Can someone help me understand which companies (cable, teleco) use copper, coax or fiber optics?
Trying to get a sense of what a common connection is:

Example: Cable company has coax connection from the hub, then copper wire in the “last mile” to my house.

And finally, what the ideal connection is…

Example: Fiber optic straight from the source into your house.

Seems oversimplified I know, but I want to get an understanding of how these materials are used today, and how the mix of materials can vary between my house and my internet provider, depending on the company I deal with.

Thanks!
Thanks J-Ray — we’re off to a good start.

So then what is “hard wiring” Is that copper or coax? Or are they the same thing?

Best answer:

Answer by JRay
The economics of operation define the network selected.

If the cable company gave every home an optic connection, then it would go bust trying to maintain it and repair it. And then so would your software and hardware requirement. The sheer speed is mind boggling.

So they do the optic connection till the most optimum point (i.e. the distance they can run the cable without a joint from the common hub in the area) and then do hard wiring.

Know better? Leave your own answer in the comments!
