| Dr. Paul Langner, Ph.D., Vice President, Architecture joined BrightLink
Networks in September 2000. Prior to BrightLink, Paul was the Director of the systems and
architecture group for Lucent Microelectronics’ Network Communications business unit.
In this role, he drove the overall networking strategy of all of Lucent’s ME products
(optical and electrical) and established and managed a large team of systems engineers and
architects to build Lucent Microelectronics into the world’s leading networking
components company. Prior to Lucent Paul worked with Fujitsu Network Communications,
Bell-Northern Research, and Northern Telecom in a variety of senior system architect
roles. Paul currently holds 2 patents and has earned a bachelors, masters and Ph.D. in
electronics from Carleton University. Paul is also responsible for the SDL (simple data
link) framing protocol, as well as high-order virtual concatenation.
