Richard Jensen

Director, Research & Design

Richard Jensen is a research and design director at Sycamore Networks, Inc., where he is responsible for the development of advanced optical technologies.

Before joining Sycamore, Mr. Jensen was a design director at TYCOM (formally ATT Bell Labs Undersea Systems). He has worked in undersea systems for over 13 years, except for one year spent at Lucent Technologies working on 40 Gb/s transmission systems development.

During Mr. Jensen’s years in undersea systems, he worked on transmission and monitoring system design along with high-speed terminal development. Prior to working in undersea systems he spent two years at Bellcore doing research on a variety of optical transmission systems.

Mr. Jensen holds a bachelors of science and a masters of science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California.
