| With 20 years of industry experience in research, development and management,
Dr. Chien-Yu Kuo is a pioneer in fiber optics and laser technology. His expertise ranges
from external cavity semiconductor lasers and multi-electrode tunable DFB lasers to
coherent communications systems. Before co-founding Cinta Networks, Kuo worked with
telecommunications systems and devices at AT&T Bell Labs for more than a decade. He
then served as director of lightwave transmissions systems at Harmonic Lightwaves, where
he implemented state-of-the-art cable TV transmission systems. This set new standards in
the industry and was the cornerstone for Harmonic's successful IPO. Most recently, Kuo
specialized in the development of high-speed optical transmitters and receivers for a
private company.
