Robert Bednarek Chief Technology Officer

Robert Bednarek's association with PanAmSat Corporation dates back to
the company's founding in 1984. As a partner and vice president of the engineering
consulting firm Rubin, Bednarek and Associates in Washington, D.C., Mr. Bednarek provided
early consultation to PanAmSat, and was instrumental in the design and launch of the first
PanAmSat satellite, PAS-1.
Since 1984, Mr. Bednarek has acted both as a consulting engineer to
PanAmSat and as the company's senior executive for engineering and operations activities.
In that capacity, he is responsible for all company technical operations, including
satellite development and construction, launch operations and all PanAmSat ground
facilities worldwide.
Prior to co-founding Rubin, Bednarek and Associates, Mr. Bednarek served
as deputy chief scientist for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) in Washington.
At the CPB, he directed contract research in the application and utilization of new
communications technologies for public broadcasting. He was also responsible for
monitoring emerging communication technologies, and evaluating their application to CPB
operations.
Mr. Bednarek is a 1979 graduate of the University of Florida, from which
he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He is a member of both
the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers, and the Society of Motion Picture
and Television Engineers.
