Robert Bednarek Robert Bednarek

Chief Technology Officer

PanAmSat

Robert Bednarek's association with PanAmSat Corporation dates back to the company's founding in 1984. As a partner and vice president of the engineering consulting firm Rubin, Bednarek and Associates in Washington, D.C., Mr. Bednarek provided early consultation to PanAmSat, and was instrumental in the design and launch of the first PanAmSat satellite, PAS-1.

Since 1984, Mr. Bednarek has acted both as a consulting engineer to PanAmSat and as the company's senior executive for engineering and operations activities. In that capacity, he is responsible for all company technical operations, including satellite development and construction, launch operations and all PanAmSat ground facilities worldwide.

Prior to co-founding Rubin, Bednarek and Associates, Mr. Bednarek served as deputy chief scientist for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) in Washington. At the CPB, he directed contract research in the application and utilization of new communications technologies for public broadcasting. He was also responsible for monitoring emerging communication technologies, and evaluating their application to CPB operations.

Mr. Bednarek is a 1979 graduate of the University of Florida, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He is a member of both the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers, and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
