Dr. W. Timothy Strayer is a Senior
Scientist in the Department of Internetwork Research of the BBN Technologies. He received
his PhD from the University of Virginia in 1992, where he did work on next-generation
network protocols, reliable multicast, and distributed object-oriented parallel processing
systems. He joined BBN in 1997 from Sandia National Laboratories, where he worked on next
generation transport protocols, reliable multicast, and distributed collaboration systems.
While at BBN, he has worked on several DARPA and industry sponsored projects in the areas
of Active Networking, satellite packet switching, mobile IP, virtual private networks, and
routing systems. He has written over 25 journal and conference papers, several book
chapters, and co-authored the 1992 Addison-Wesley book, The Xpress Transfer Protocol. He
is a Senior Member of IEEE. |
