Delivering Broadband Content
over DBS Networks

Jim Stratigos
Vice President
EchoStar Data Networks

With the rapid growth of the Internet and DBS networks, has come an increased demand for platforms capable of carrying broadband content to both the PC and the TV. DBS networks have emerged as one alternative that can provide a multi-service solution that combines video, audio and broadband data services delivered into a single small dish. The convergence of television and the Internet has produced many new opportunities for service offerings. TV-centric services include enhanced television, interactive advertising and TV-to-Web cross links. PC-centric services include IP multicast video services, webcasting and in the future, fully interactive Internet access.
