| Robert J. Rini is an attorney who specializes in the
representation of broadcast, Internet, multichannel video, satellite and wireless
broadband interests before the FCC, Congress, the courts and other federal and state
administrative agencies. Bob has broad experience in general corporate, mergers and
acquisitions, venture capital and corporate finance, regulatory, legislative, trademark
and copyright law. He is the author or co-author of numerous articles and primers on
wireless technologies and digital television, and has lectured about telecommunications
topics at various workshops and conferences. Bob represents both
established and start-up satellite companies KaStar, @Contact, RXL Pulitzer, and McKibben
Communications. On behalf of KaStar, he helped secure several prime Ka-Band frequency
allocations from which KaStar plans to build, launch and operate a global, digital,
satellite system that will provide two-way high speed broadband data services.
He attended the State University of New York at Albany where he graduated in
1982 cum laude with a B.A. in Public Affairs and with honors in Political Science. He
attended the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America from 1982 to
1985 where he received his Juris Doctor degree. He was a member of the first class to
graduate from the certificate program of the Institute for Communications Law Studies at
Catholic University. He is a member of the Bar of the District of Columbia, the United
States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the United States District
Court for the District of Columbia and the Federal Communications Bar Association.
During law school, Bob was a law clerk for National Public Radio and later, with
a communications law firm. Upon graduation from law school, Bob entered private practice.
He formed the law firm of Stambler & Rini in 1986, and, upon the retirement of his
partner in 1988, merged his practice with another communications law firm. Bob established
Rini, Coran & Lancellotta, P.C. in 1992.
Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised on Long Island. His interests
include historic preservation, golf, reading detective novels, fine wine and gourmet food.
He currently lives in Takoma Park, Maryland with his wife and two children. |
