| Mr. Ivancic is a senior research engineer at NASA's
Glenn Research Center (formerly NASA Lewis) working in the Satellite Communications arena.
He has been with NASA for over 16 years. Mr. Ivancic's work includes advanced digital and
RF design, communications networks, satellite onboard processing, and system integration
and testing. In addition, Mr. Ivancic has been responsible for the development of
proof-of-concept onboard processing satellite equipment, ground terminal equipment, and
numerous pieces of special test equipment. His recent research has been directed at
evaluating commercial communication protocols such as Asynchronous Transfer Mode and
TCP/IP in a satellite environment and improving their efficiencies. Mr. Ivancic's current
research is directed at using commercial protocols for space-based applications with heavy
emphasis on mobile environments and space-based routers for aeronautical and NASA mission
applications. NASA Glenn Research Center and Cisco Systems under a NASA
Space Act Agreement are performing advanced Internet technology and networking research
directed toward communication satellite networks and NASA mission scenarios. Under this
agreement, NASA is providing facilities, researchers, and satellite time via the Advanced
Communication Technology Satellite. Cisco is providing equipment, advanced code,
researchers and engineering support. |
