David
Beering is a Principal Partner of Infinite Global Infrastructures, LLC, based in Chicago,
IL. His current work focuses on the design, integration, and deployment of large scale
high-performance virtual networks.
Prior to his current position, he
spent five years with AT&T Communications and seven years with Amoco Corporation, both
in Chicago, IL. During his tenure at Amoco he designed and deployed fiber optic backbone
data networks at three oil refineries, two chemical plants and numerous high-rise
buildings.
During 1995 and 1996, Beering was the
project director of the American Petroleum Institutes ATM Research & Industrial
Enterprise Study (ARIES), a collaborative technology development effort involving more
than 34 organizations from petroleum, government, health care and communications.
He is presently working extensively
with NASAs Glenn Research Center and Johnson Space Center to develop reference
architectures, coordinate research, and conduct demonstrations on communications networks
using TCP/IP and ATM. Much of his experimental work utilizes NASAs Advanced
Communications Technology Satellite operating at rates of 155 and 622 megabits per second.
Beering also serves as a network architect for Lockheed Martin Corporations
Consolidated Space Operations Contract (CSOC) team. He maintains strong ties to the
Petroleum and Health Care sectors, and is a frequent speaker at industry forums.
Beering is a member of the Institute
of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Association for Computing Machinery, the
American Meteorological Society, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering and a
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, both from Purdue University. |
