Jack Wimmer joined MCI in 1973 and worked initially with MCI operations in the New York Metropolitan area. Since that time, Jack has held a wide variety of engineering and management positions with the company. His experience has covered numerous areas including transmission systems engineering, route construction, route development, site acquisition, network planning and advanced technology.

Jack is presently Vice President, Network Technology & Planning. In this capacity, Jack is responsible for network architecture, development of new technology for MCI WorldCom, and its integration into the network.

Jack holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Telecommunications Policy from George Washington University.
