| Scott Clavenna has been active in the telecommunications market research
business since February 1991. Mr. Clavenna founded Pioneer Consulting in May 1997 to
provide market research on domestic and international high-speed networks to vendors and
carriers worldwide. As Principal Analyst with a specialization in broadband networks
markets and technology, his first report published by Pioneer was completed in August
1997, entitled International Fiber Optic Networks. In December 1997, Pioneer published Mr.
Clavenna's report entitled Satellite Data Networks: The Internet's Next Frontier. His
report Optical Access Networks: WDM and Optical Networking for Local Loop and Cable TV
Applications was published May 1998, and Global Broadband Access Markets, assessing the
viability and predicted penetration rates of xDSL, cable modems, LMDS and broadband
satellite services was published in December 1998. Mr. Clavenna's first report of 1999,
Metropolitan Optical Networks was published in August 1999. Mr. Clavenna is also senior
editor of The Pioneer Report on International Telecom Networks, a monthly newsletter
published by Pioneer Consulting. Mr. Clavenna has also participated in a number of individual client studies, performing research and market analysis on specific topics for clients in the telecommunications industry. Topics have included submarine cable systems, broadband satellite networks, DWDM market research, carrier's carriers research, and fiber optic component and system markets. Mr. Clavenna has presented several papers at trade shows and conferences. Mr. Clavenna's article, "DWDM's Newly Charted Territory is Metropolitan Access" appeared in Lightwave Magazine's October 1999 issue. |
