Description:
While traffic continues to grow at explosive rates, network costs are following those same growth curves. At the same time, end users are increasingly asking for additional connectivity and services. End users are increasingly asking for advanced services ranging from 10/100 BaseT, to video, to VPNs and other value added IP based services as well as wavelength services. Service providers must find methods for efficiently delivering these and as yet undetermined services. These new networks will require new levels of processing power to scale and deliver these value added services. New generations of switching, routing and transport technologies are required to build the core infrastructure of a scalable and robust internet.
